presented “Adzogbo” at Lipstick, Shoes & Fancy Moves on Thursday, December 4th at 8pm!
“Adzogbo” is a war dance from the Republic of Benin (Dahame) that has now been adapted as a social or recreational dance. Some movements are motifs from the arms drills of the French colonial soldiers, including leaping over the wooden horse, wrestling and boxing. Adzogbo premiered in Ghana in 2010 and was also presented at TEDxUCIrvine in 2012.
